What is counselling?
Counselling is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help you to deal with emotional and behavioural issues by allowing you to talk openly with a non-judgemental and empathetic third party. It is solely focused on providing you with an opportunity to ‘open-up’ and freely discuss your problems in a supportive and safe environment. By contrast, other forms of psychotherapy often deal with more complex problems, and attempt to understand and address how an issue occurs.
Many people find that having the opportunity to discuss their problems ‘out loud’ with an empathetic and unbiased counsellor is immensely helpful; allowing them to acquire new insights, and to work out their own solutions.
